Compensation: Starting at $45/hour for new graduates
At Blazer Jobs, we’re proud to support school professionals who dedicate their careers to student success. Our mission — we make life better for those who make lives better — is the foundation of our work. We help school social workers find positions where they are valued, empowered, and provided with the tools to create real change in the lives of students and their families.
When you partner with Blazer Jobs, you’ll receive competitive weekly compensation, full medical, dental, and vision coverage, and access to flexible scheduling options including full-time, part-time, and remote placements when available. We offer a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, reimbursements for licensure and continuing education, and ongoing support from a dedicated advisor who will guide you throughout your placement and beyond.
In this role, you will work within the school community to support students’ emotional, behavioral, and social well-being. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, providing counseling and intervention services, coordinating with teachers and parents, connecting families with community resources, and contributing to the development of individualized education and behavioral plans. School social workers are essential to fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
To qualify for this position in Virginia, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and be licensed by the Virginia Board of Social Work. A School Social Worker endorsement through the Virginia Department of Education is typically required for positions within public school settings. Previous experience in a school or child-centered environment is preferred but not mandatory.
