School Social Worker - Philadelphia, PA(Summer Contract)

School Social Worker (K–12) - Location: Philadelphia, PA 

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School Social Worker to support approximately 20 students in grades K–12. The successful candidate will deliver a range of mental health and support services within a school setting, including direct interventions, family engagement, and collaboration with community providers.

Start Date: Immediately
End Date: August 4, 2025
Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours through June 17, 2025: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

• Hours from June 30 to August 4, 2025: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  Note: School will be closed from June 18 to June 27 and on July 4

Major Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect services including individual, group, and classroom-based interventions

• Consult with parents, staff, and school teams to support student success

• Assess risk and coordinate emergency mental health interventions as needed

• Help students and families access community-based resources

• Coordinate with external mental health providers to ensure continuity of care

• Participate in the IEP process by contributing present levels, developing goals, and writing progress reports

• Ensure timely submission of all clinical and educational documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution

• Valid PA licensure (LSW, LCSW, or LPC required)

• PDE certification preferred (school social worker or school counselor)

• Experience working with students with autism and/or emotional disturbance preferred

• Cultural competence and experience with diverse populations strongly preferred

• Familiarity with special education and child welfare regulations

• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills

• Current Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances required
