Social Worker in Philadelphia, PA

Make a real difference in students lives as a school-based Social Worker supporting learners at both the middle and elementary levels near Philadelphia, PA. This onsite, full-time contract opportunity runs through June 10, 2027, with a start date as soon as possible. Multiple openings are available, providing the chance to support diverse student populations in dynamic learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) license active in Pennsylvania required
• School-based experience supporting children or adolescents
• Must meet one of the following per PA Dept. of Education:
  • Hold a valid, active PA School Social Worker Educational Specialist certificate (or this plus eligibility for an emergency permit)
  • OR be a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and enrolled in a PDE-approved social worker program
• Ability to obtain/complete all required PA clearances
• Comfortable working in a vibrant urban educational setting
• Willingness to disclose district placement upfront before submission

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and resource connection for students and families
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and administrators to develop and implement student-focused interventions
• Support diverse learners at both Edgmont Scholars Academy Middle School and Chester Upland School of Arts Elementary School
• Maintain documentation and follow up on cases, ensuring compliance with district and state requirements
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to an inclusive, positive school climate
