Behavior Intervention Specialist (Social Worker Role)

Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist at a partner high school in Phoenix, AZ for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time, onsite role is ideal for a licensed Social Worker who thrives in school settings and has experience with behavioral support and intervention strategies.
Position Overview
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: Up to 40 hours/week
Duration: August 4, 2025 – May 20, 2026
Interview Format: Zoom (virtual)
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct behavioral support to a caseload of approximately 30 high school students
Conduct observations and support the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Assist in designing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Collaborate with Special Education teachers, school psychologists, and other support staff
Monitor intervention effectiveness and provide coaching to school teams as needed
Ensure consistent behavioral supports across academic and non-academic settings
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
Active Social Worker license in the state of Arizona (LMSW or LCSW preferred)
Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Previous school-based experience or work with students exhibiting behavioral and emotional challenges
Knowledge of FBAs, BIPs, and trauma-informed practices
