School-Based Social Worker - Pittston, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary school students as a Social Worker in a contract role spanning now through June 2027. Youll work onsite, supporting K-4 students within an emotional support program, providing crucial services that nurture growth, resilience, and well-being.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid licensure as a School Social Worker (or eligibility for Pennsylvania certification)
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or clinical setting
• Strong knowledge of social-emotional interventions and trauma-informed care
• Familiarity with emotional support programs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain comprehensive student records and contribute to IEP meetings as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect support services to students in grades K-4 who face emotional and behavioral challenges
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to promote positive behaviors and coping skills
• Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and families to develop and monitor strategies tailored to individual student needs
• Participate in assessment, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Facilitate access to community resources and serve as a liaison between home, school, and community agencies
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice
