School-Based Social Worker | Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

Make an impact working with elementary students in an emotional support setting. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity allows you to devote your expertise as a School Social Worker to support students in grades K-4 through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Current state licensure for School Social Work
• Previous experience working with elementary-age students preferred
• Familiarity with emotional support programs in a school setting
• Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• Collaborative approach with teachers and school administration

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling for students requiring emotional support
• Develop, implement, and monitor interventions to address social-emotional needs
• Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insights for student success
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with regulatory requirements
• Serve as a resource for parents and teachers regarding student needs and available supports
• Help foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate
