Social Worker Job Duties

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources to support student well-being

• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students in need

• Participate in IEP, 504, and student support meetings

• Assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations

• Support programs that promote student success, attendance, and engagement

Federal and State Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

• Florida state licensure or eligibility (LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent)

• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Florida school districts
