Full-Time Special Education Teacher – Accomack, VA

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for full-time positions with school districts in the Accomack, VA area. We are seeking passionate, qualified professionals dedicated to supporting the academic and developmental success of students with special needs.

Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements, including:

• Valid Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education (e.g., General Curriculum K–12, Adapted Curriculum K–12)

• Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in Special Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

• Successful completion of background check and fingerprinting through the Virginia Department of Education

• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance

• Prior experience working in special education classrooms is preferred

Typical Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ academic and behavioral needs

• Provide direct instruction and differentiated support to students across multiple settings

• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, specialists, and families to promote student success

• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate students with diverse learning needs

• Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings

• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a supportive learning environment
