Special Education Teacher | Anoka, Minnesota

This contract opportunity runs from now through May 28, 2027, and is based entirely on-site at a high school. You'll provide direct support and instruction to students with developmental cognitive disabilities, ensuring an inclusive, empowering learning experience.

• Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
• Experience working in a center-based classroom or with high-needs student populations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to develop and implement tailored lesson plans and IEPs aligned with students individual needs
• Problem-solving skills, patience, and resourcefulness in adapting strategies for student success
• Capacity to maintain comprehensive documentation and accurate records

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver effective instruction within a center-based classroom focused on developmental cognitive disabilities
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs, fostering independence and growth
• Collaborate with school staff and related service providers to support student IEP goals
• Monitor, evaluate, and document progress, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and school guidelines
• Engage with parents and guardians to promote communication and partnership
• Contribute to a positive, respectful school culture

This contract position provides the opportunity to work a dependable weekly schedule of 37.5 hours on-site in a supportive, collaborative environment.
