Special Education Teacher | Anoka, Minnesota

This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher interested in working across both a high school and an elementary school, providing adaptive physical education (DAPE) in an engaging, supportive environment.

In this role, youll have the chance to:

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold valid Special Education teaching credentials, with DAPE certification or relevant experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrate an understanding of IEP-driven instruction and adaptation of gym activities for diverse learning needs.
• Possess strong communication skills for effective teamwork and partnership with staff, students, and families.
• Prior experience collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team is desirable.

Core Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute daily adaptive gym activities at both high school and elementary locations, ensuring all instruction aligns with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Manage due process documentation accurately and on time for all assigned students.
• Work closely with the districts DAPE team to coordinate lesson plans, supports, and professional development.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment across both sites.
• Provide instruction in two back-to-back classes at one site each day, and in the classroom two days per week at the other site (schedule provided upon placement).
