Special Education Teacher | Arlington Heights, Illinois

Step into a pivotal role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant elementary environment near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time contract opportunity runs from as soon as possible through June 10, 2027, providing the chance to make a lasting difference in the academic and social-emotional development of K-4 students. Youll work closely with a small caseload of 8-10 diverse students in a resource model, blending pull-out sessions for targeted instruction with inclusive push-in support alongside general education colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid Professional Educators License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement (LBS1)
• If you currently hold a comparable out-of-state credential, familiarize yourself with the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) to secure Illinois licensure
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
• Strong background supporting students with varied academic and social/emotional needs
• Excellent collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and interventions to address both academic and social/emotional goals
• Provide both pull-out resource support and push-in assistance in general education classrooms
• Develop and implement IEPs, track progress, and document student growth
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and growth
• Engage in ongoing communication with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success

The position is onsite only, Monday through Friday, with a 35-hour workweek. Scheduled breaks include a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute unpaid intervals each day, allowing for balance and rejuvenation.
