Special Education Teacher - Arlington Heights, Illinois

As a valued member of the team, you'll support a self-contained classroom environment, providing specialized instruction to a small group of 8 to 15 students with unique needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Illinois special education teaching certification is required
• Prior experience working within a school setting, particularly with students on the autism spectrum, is highly preferred
• Knowledge of best practices for individualized instruction and classroom management
• Strong collaboration skills for working with ancillary staff, families, and administrators
• Comfortable working onsite and adapting to varying student needs in a dynamic environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored curriculum and instructional support to students with autism in a self-contained setting
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal requirements
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to foster student growth
• Monitor student progress, incorporating strategies and interventions as needed
• Create a structured, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth

This role features a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 8:20AM to 3:10PM, allowing for work-life balance while maintaining a rewarding routine.
