Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

This full-time contract opportunity spans the academic year, beginning August 11 and concluding May 21. As a Special Education Teacher, your expertise in instructional practices and Specially Designed Instruction will be crucial in supporting students working on alternative standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid CDE Special Education (SPED) License with Generalist Endorsement (license must be active or proof of application provided; temporary or interim licenses are not eligible)
• License must read: Professional Teacher License with endorsement in Special Education Generalist (grades 5-21)
• Demonstrated experience and skill in Special Designed Instruction
• Robust knowledge of instructional strategies for students on alternative standards
• Strong familiarity and practical expertise in creating, implementing, and reviewing IEPs
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of students receiving special education services
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance and effective support for student goals
• Collaborate proactively with fellow educators, support staff, and families as part of the IEP team
• Employ evidence-based practices to support academic and behavioral development
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and district policies
