Job Description:
BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in Auburn, WA. This position will work with K-8 students, with potential to float between elementary and middle school levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in resource room and self-contained settings, along with the ability to work with students who have moderate to severe behavioral needs and medical fragility. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique learning needs.
Provide direct instruction and support in resource room and self-contained settings.
Work closely with students who have moderate to severe behavioral needs and medically fragile conditions.
Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support the inclusion of students in the general education environment.
Ensure appropriate modifications and accommodations are in place to support student learning and growth.
Manage student behavior and provide crisis intervention as necessary (CPI certification preferred).
Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and the multidisciplinary team to monitor student progress and address concerns.
Complete assessment documentation for IEPs, progress reports, and other required school paperwork.
Requirements:
WA State Teaching Certificate with Special Education (SPED) Endorsement K-12 required.
CPI certification preferred.
ESA certification required.
OSPI fingerprints required.
Experience working with K-8 students in both resource room and self-contained settings.
Experience with moderate to severe behavioral needs and working with medically fragile students.
Ability to work effectively in a tribal school environment (additional tribal credentialing required). Please note that this additional credentialing process may cause a delay in the start date by about 1 week.
Special Requirements:
As this is a tribal school, additional credentialing is required by the tribal council. Please be aware that this process could delay the start of employment by approximately 1 week.
