Special Education Teacher | Aurora, Colorado

With one dedicated site assignment, youll serve as a full-time Special Education Teacher focused on Affective Needs for the current academic year. Required Skills and Experience

• Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (ages 5-21)
• Strong understanding of special education compliance, IEP development, and individualized instruction
• Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities and/or autism is highly valued
• Familiarity with behavioral evaluation tools and interventions (FBAs, ABA, etc.) is a significant advantage
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, school-based team environment

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement tailored educational plans for students with affective needs
• Conduct appropriate assessments and collaborate on behavior intervention strategies
• Deliver instruction and support to middle school students in classroom and small group settings
• Maintain clear documentation aligned with district procedures and student goals
• Communicate progress with parents, teachers, and support staff regularly
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and required trainings
