Special Education Teacher Needed in Austin, TX

Position Details:

• Location: Austin, TX

• Schedule: Full-time

• Classroom: G3 Autism, grades K–5

• Caseload: Approximately 10 students

• Potential for renewal based on performance

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Texas teaching certification with Special Education endorsement(s)

• Must meet all local and state requirements for special education

• Experience in autism support or structured teaching classrooms preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)

Job Duties:

• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with autism

• Deliver structured academic and functional instruction tailored to individual needs

• Utilize ABA techniques, visual schedules, and communication supports (e.g., PECS, AAC)

• Provide behavioral support and implement behavior intervention plans

• Foster communication, social skills, and independence in daily routines

• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff

• Maintain data on student progress and behavior

• Engage in regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings

• Create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
