Details:
- Location: Barre, VT
- Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload: Elementary School assignment. The district likes to discuss more details at the time of interview to see the best fit.
Applicants must meet all state and local requirements, including:
- Valid Vermont Educator License with an endorsement in Special Education (grades appropriate to the assignment)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Knowledge of and compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Vermont state special education regulations
- Ability to pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and employment eligibility verifications
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student progress
- Deliver differentiated instruction and classroom modifications as outlined in students' IEPs
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all IDEA and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional development
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success
