Position Overview:
A supportive school district in Birmingham, AL is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with a range of disabilities in an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and compliance documentation

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture focused on student growth and achievement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Valid Alabama Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)

• Experience with IEP development and case management is a plus

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
