Special Education Teacher - Black Mountain, NC

This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, working within supportive classrooms designed for student success.

What You'll Bring:

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials
• Experience or strong interest in elementary and/or middle school settings
• Skills working with students requiring structured academic and behavioral support
• Ability to provide personal care, including toileting assistance; no feeding support required unless comfortable assisting a student with a feeding tube
• Collaborative mindset, partnering seamlessly with teaching assistants and support staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction to small caseloads 6 elementary students and 11 middle school students adapting to individual learning needs
• Utilize classroom support, such as teaching assistants and behavioral technicians, to maximize student engagement
• Work closely within a co-teaching model in the middle school classroom
• Ensure a safe, encouraging space for students with mild behavioral and personal care needs
• Maintain accurate records and clear communication with professional colleagues
• Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and progress tracking
