We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support K–12 students in Charleston, SC for the 2025–2026 school year. Position Overview:
- Location: Charleston, SC
- Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite
- Dates: September 2025 – June 2026
- Caseload: K-12th Grade Students
- Pay: $35-38+/hour (based on experience)
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver targeted instruction to students with diverse learning needs in inclusive, resource, or self-contained settings
- Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals and academic standards
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Apply data-driven approaches to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Modify curriculum and provide accommodations to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and evaluations
- Build a safe, positive, and supportive classroom culture
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina teaching license in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD)
- Experience supporting students with a range of abilities across K–12 settings preferred
- Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Patient, flexible, and committed to a student-first approach
