Are you a passionate and dedicated bilingual (English-Spanish) Special Education Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in the Blue Island, IL area for the 2025-2026 school year? We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join a supportive school district and make a real difference in the lives of students.

Position Details:

  • Location: Blue Island, IL
  • Dates: August 26, 2025 – June 3, 2026 (tentative dates)
  • Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours/week
  • Classroom: Self-Contained
  • Grades: 4-5
  • Requirement: MUST BE Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • Certification: Must have Cross Categorical certification
  • Compensation: We offer the average competitive hourly rate of $35-$50 based on experience for a contract licensed special education teacher.

Job Duties of a Special Education Teacher:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in a self-contained classroom setting, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, parents, and administrators.
  • Maintain accurate and organized student records.
  • Implement positive behavior support strategies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant school meetings.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and growth.

Requirements:

  • Active Special Education Teacher License.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Cross Categorical certification is required.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for working with students with special needs and a commitment to their success.
