Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding full-time contract role focusing on developmental cognitive disabilities for K-2 students. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working with a small caseload of approximately 10 students in an elementary school setting, supporting their unique learning needs and development.

As a vital member of the educational community, youll collaborate with dedicated staff to provide individualized instruction, foster growth, and cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. The assignment runs from the end of February through early June 2027, with working hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, aligning with the academic calendar.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current licensure or eligibility to teach Special Education, specifically addressing developmental cognitive disabilities
  • Experience teaching students in grades K-2 or early elementary preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach with diverse learners

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instruction tailored to students developmental and cognitive needs
  • Develop and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Track student progress and adapt strategies to maximize growth and engagement
  • Foster social, emotional, and academic development in a supportive environment
  • Communicate consistently with parents, staff, and support personnel to ensure cohesive care and learning experiences
