Special Education Teacher - Darlington, South Carolina

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching certification.
• Prior experience working with students with severe disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom.
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and the ability to differentiate instruction.
• Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary team members.
• Demonstrated ability to create a structured, positive, and safe learning environment.
• Effective communication skills to engage with families, school personnel, and support staff.

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction as outlined in each students IEP.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching approaches to address the wide range of needs.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress to inform ongoing instruction and updates to IEPs.
• Support students academic achievement alongside functional, behavioral, and daily living skills growth.
• Participate in IEP meetings, actively contributing insights and recommendations for student plans.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is well-managed, supportive, and conducive to learning.
• Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrative staff.
