Special Education Teacher | Derry, New Hampshire

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid special education teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience or a strong interest in working with students requiring intensive needs support
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Skill in adapting curricular content for life skills and functional academics
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the case manager for 5th/6th grade students in a specialized program
• Deliver instruction tailored to each learners educational and behavioral goals
• Coordinate and oversee IEP meetings, documentation, and reporting
• Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed for optimal student growth
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and service providers

The position runs Monday through Friday, with typical hours totaling 35-37.5 weekly. As details become available, the scope of responsibilities may be further refined to ensure a supportive and effective working environment.
