Special Education Teacher in Edison, NJ

Make a difference in the lives of elementary school students as a Special Education Teacher this contract school year! This rewarding opportunity begins as soon as possible and lasts through June 23, 2027. Youll be working full-time, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, supporting multiple elementary sites within the district. The home base is Colonial Middle School for administrative purposes, with daily assignments across four elementary locations.

Your role will focus on serving a caseload of 30 to 40 students across these sites, providing specialized instruction, and conducting essential evaluations. This is an excellent opportunity for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact in special education while gaining experience in a dynamic, multi-location environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Hold a valid NJ Teaching Certificate with Special Education or Learning Disability Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) endorsement
• Experience with elementary-age students preferred
• Demonstrated skill in performing special education evaluations
• Strong ability to adapt and manage a flexible caseload across different locations
• Must possess or be eligible for NJ Technology Certificate

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and intervention to students with diverse learning needs
• Complete thorough and timely evaluations and student progress reports
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
• Travel daily among the assigned elementary locations
• Adhere to IEP guidelines, documentation, and all relevant regulations
