Special Education Teacher - Edwards, Colorado

Embark on a rewarding opportunity to make an impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students with significant support needs. In this contract position, you will provide dedicated instruction and interventions for students in grades 68, guiding a small caseload of five learners. The assignment offers a balanced weekly schedule and the chance to contribute meaningfully within a collaborative school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to each students IEP goals and adaptive requirements
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and school specialists to develop effective programming and promote inclusion
• Develop, implement, and assess IEPs for a caseload of five students, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
• Foster a structured, supportive classroom atmosphere that nurtures social, behavioral, and academic growth
• Partner with families to support student progress and communicate strategies for success
• Track and document student development, providing data-driven updates and recommendations during meetings

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid license as a Special Education Teacher (please provide proof of certification with your application)
• Experience working with middle school students and/or individuals with significant support needs preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Familiarity with IEP processes, behavior intervention strategies, and progress monitoring
• Commitment to advocating for students diverse needs and implementing evidence-based practices

Details:

• Contract position starting immediately, anticipated through the end of May
• Full-time, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:403:50; Wednesday from 9:403:50, approximately 40 hours per week
• Small, focused caseload in a supportive setting
