Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced and passionate Special Education Teachers for a full-time opportunity with school districts in the Fredericksburg, VA area. We are seeking dedicated educators who are committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive educational environments.

Position Overview:

This role involves delivering specialized instruction, managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating with school staff and families to ensure student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Provide direct instruction tailored to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support differentiated learning.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, service providers, and families.

  • Maintain accurate student records, including progress monitoring and documentation.

  • Conduct assessments to inform instruction and evaluate student progress.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants must meet all local and state certification requirements for Virginia, including:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

  • Valid Virginia teaching license issued by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) with an endorsement in Special Education – General Curriculum K–12 or another relevant special education area.

  • Completion of a state-approved educator preparation program.

  • Successful completion of required background checks and fingerprint clearance.

  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and Virginia special education regulations.

  • Previous experience in a special education setting is preferred but not required.
