• Valid Special Education Teacher certification in South Carolina (SPED)
• Experience working with students with severe disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development and execution

• Flexibility and empathy, especially regarding personal care needs (including potential toileting assistance)
• Capability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each students IEP in a self-contained classroom.
• Adapt curricula and teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Track and document student progress toward academic, behavioral, and life-skill goals.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and well-organized learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate frequently with general and special education staff, administrators, and therapists.
• Provide support for students' academic growth, functional skills, and behavioral development.
• Engage in IEP meetings, contributing insights for student success.
• Communicate regularly and constructively with parents and team members.
• Assist with daily needs, which may include personal care for students.
