Special Education Teacher in Hemingway, SC

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Valid Special Education teaching license issued by the State of South Carolina (required)
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially with early childhood or elementary students
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborative approach and willingness to work with families and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction to students in 3K and 4K, adapting lessons to meet unique learning needs
• Develop IEPs and track student progress regularly
• Communicate with parents, support staff, and administrators about student needs and growth
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic development
• Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings as required
