Special Education Teacher - Jersey City, New Jersey

Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a fulfilling role supporting elementary students throughout the school year. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple sites near Jersey City, NJ, with a set Monday-Friday schedule from 8 am to 4 pm. Youll engage with a diverse caseload of 30 to 40 students, applying your knowledge and compassion in a collaborative educational environment.

Applicants should be prepared to travel between four locationsPort Redding, Indiana Ave, Claremont Ave, and Kennedy Parkwhile maintaining communication with the home base at Colonial Middle School. Although you wont provide direct services at the home base, youll enjoy the camaraderie and support of a dedicated team.

Ideal Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Special Education/Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant
• Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive student evaluations
• Familiarity with elementary-level special education and IEP implementation
• Skilled at collaborating with staff, families, and support professionals
• Effective organizational and time management competencies to meet the needs of multi-site assignments
• Must have NJ Tech Cert

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support for a diverse group of elementary students
• Complete timely evaluations and contribute to IEP development with a multidisciplinary team
• Adapt teaching strategies to foster student growth and confidence
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other educators
• Maintain documentation and progress reports as required
