Special Education Teacher – Full-Time
Location: Kansas City, KS
Hours: Full-Time, 32 hours/week (Monday – Thursday)
Setting: Onsite

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and dedicated Special Education Teachers for a full-time role in the Kansas City, Kansas area for the upcoming school year. We are seeking professionals who are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
  
Details: 

• Location: Kansas City, KS
• Full Time: 32 hours per week
• Caseload: K-12 caseload, conducting testing and evaluations. The district likes to discuss more details at the time of interview to see the best fit based on experience.

Applicants must meet all state and local requirements, including:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Kansas teaching license with a Special Education endorsement issued by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance
• Ability to pass background checks and complete district onboarding processes

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and required documentation
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and professional development sessions
