Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting the academic growth of special education students in the greater New Orleans area. This full-time role spans multiple schools, delivering vital assistance to non-certified teachers and making a real impact in special education classrooms. Youll work with a diverse range of students and educators, helping to ensure all learners receive the support and guidance they deserve throughout the school year.

Your assignment extends from now until May 27, 2027, with 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the academic calendar. As an itinerant special education teacher, youll be instrumental in delivering expert consultation on instructional strategies, data collection, IEP writing, and progress monitoring. Expect a varied schedule as the number of schools assigned will be determined by the district.

What Youll Need:

  • Valid and active Louisiana Department of Education certificate with SPED endorsement (non-negotiable)
  • Previous experience supporting or teaching in K-12 special education settings
  • Demonstrated skills in IEP writing, instructional planning, and data-driven progress reporting
  • Strong collaboration and coaching abilities to assist non-certified teachers
  • Commitment to travel between campuses as directed
  • Ability to complete district credentialing requirements, including drug testing and fingerprinting
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass additional background checks as required
