Blazer Jobs is working with public school districts throughout Michigan to hire licensed and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teachers for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with exceptional needs while building your career in a supportive, school-based environment.
As a SPED Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and reach their academic, behavioral, and social goals. You’ll work closely with general education staff, service providers, and families to develop and implement effective learning strategies based on students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Current opportunities are available in districts across Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint, Ann Arbor, and nearby communities.
Design and deliver instruction tailored to meet IEP goals and student learning styles
Modify curriculum and classroom materials to accommodate a range of abilities
Monitor and document student progress regularly
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Provide a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
Comply with state and federal regulations including IDEA and Michigan Department of Education policies
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility)
Familiarity with IEP writing, implementation, and compliance
Classroom experience with students with disabilities preferred
Must pass all required Michigan background checks and fingerprinting
Full-time and part-time positions available
Contract term: August 2025 – June 2026
