Special Education Teacher | Littleton, Colorado

Make an impact supporting students success as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding contract opportunity at the middle school level. Two positions are available: one Full-Time Affective Needs teacher at a middle school serving students with significant social, emotional, or behavioral needs, and one Full-Time Learning Specialist focusing on supplemental support classes for math and literacy. Both roles are on-site and will run through the end of the school year, offering you the chance to contribute meaningfully within a dynamic educational setting.

Essential Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 5-21)
• Previous experience or strong interest in working with students with moderate to severe disabilities and autism is highly desirable
• Familiarity with behavior assessment tools and intervention strategies such as FBAs and ABA techniques is a plus
• Ability to complete and return a district contractor document packet promptly, as this is required before starting

What Youll Do:

• Provide full-time instructional and behavioral support as an Affective Needs teacher, addressing students individualized education and emotional goals
• Serve as a Learning Specialist, teaching four supplemental math and literacy support classes for students with mild to moderate needs
• Develop and deliver lesson plans and IEP accommodations tailored to individual abilities and needs
• Collaborate with school teams, families, and related service providers to maximize student outcomes
• Employ evidence-based methods for classroom management, data collection, and student assessment
