Special Education Teacher - Morganton, North Carolina

This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work across both elementary and middle school settings, helping guide students in structured and collaborative classrooms for the 2026-27 and 2027 academic years.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
• Comfort with assisting students with toileting needs; experience with students requiring feeding tubes is a plus
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to adapt lesson plans to support diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with mild behavioral challenges or no behavioral concerns
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide support in elementary structured support and middle school co-teaching environments
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, a behavior technician, and other specialists to foster a supportive learning atmosphere
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet students unique needs
• Support students with toileting as needed; oversee care and safety for students with medical requirements, such as a feeding tube
• Monitor and document student progress, communicating effectively with parents and other team members

This position runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly. Enjoy manageable caseloads, with 6 students in the elementary classroom and 11 in the middle school class.
