Position Summary

As a SPED Teacher, you will provide direct instruction and classroom support for students with a variety of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. You will play an integral role in developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet the unique goals of each student.

Positions are available across districts in Chicago, Aurora, Springfield, Rockford, Naperville, and other communities throughout Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and deliver tailored lesson plans that align with each student's IEP

• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate a wide range of abilities

• Track academic and behavioral progress and maintain compliance with state and federal documentation requirements

• Serve as a key contributor in IEP meetings and collaborate with families, service providers, and general education staff

• Promote an inclusive and structured classroom environment where all students can succeed

• Use data to adjust instructional techniques and interventions as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement or proof of pending certification

• Strong understanding of IEP development, IDEA, and differentiated instruction

• Experience working in school-based settings preferred

• Must complete Illinois fingerprinting and background checks

Position Details

• Full-time and part-time positions available

• Contract dates: August 2025 – June 2026

• W-2 employment through Blazer Jobs
