Special Education Teacher in Nebo, NC

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students in a structured, collaborative environment. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through May 28, 2027. Youll work in specialized classrooms dedicated to serving students with diverse learning needs, offering both challenge and immeasurable professional fulfillment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility
• Experience supporting elementary and/or middle school-aged students in inclusive or specialized settings
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
• Confidence assisting with toileting needs; professional approach and discretion required
• Comfortable working within a team, including teaching assistants and behavior technicians
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and implement IEPs for students in an elementary structured support setting (6-student caseload) and/or co-taught middle school classroom (11-student caseload)
• Support students with mild behavioral needs, adhering to positive behavior interventionseven though significant behavioral challenges are not present
• Provide toileting assistance for students as needed; feeding support limited to a single student with a feeding tube in the middle school classroom
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, behavior technicians, and fellow educators to foster a supportive and empathetic learning environment
• Maintain data on student progress and participate in meetings with educational teams and families
