Special Education Teacher - New Market, Maryland

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a contract Special Education Teacher in a K-12 school environment near New Market, MD. Three full-time positions are open for the upcoming academic year at locations including Oakdale Middle School, Centerville Elementary, and an additional elementary site yet to be determined. Key qualifications and experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for assigned grade level(s)
• Experience working with students in structured, self-contained, or behavior-focused special education programs
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, compassionate learning environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families

Role details and responsibilities:

• Full-time, onsite contract positionsschool-based roles only
• Academic year runs from August 17th through June 4th
• Oakdale Middle School: Support a caseload of 15 students within the Learning for Life Program (7:30-3:30 schedule)
• Centerville Elementary: Work with a self-contained behavior-focused caseload
• Third position at an additional elementary site (TBD): Self-contained classroom with approximately 10 students (9:00-3:30 schedule)
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support
