Grade Levels: K–12
Compensation: $44–$49 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in New Orleans, LA. This position involves working with K–12 students who have a range of learning, emotional, and physical disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and dedicated to helping all students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver direct instruction and support in both inclusive and self-contained settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring to evaluate student performance
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
- Strong knowledge of IDEA and IEP development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
Contract Details:
- Full-time or part-time opportunities available
- 2025–2026 academic year
- Hourly pay: $44–$49 based on experience
