Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students through specialized education services in a dynamic, multi-site environment near Newark, NJ. This full-time contract position runs the full academic year until June 23, 2027, offering a collaborative setting across four different school locations, with your home base set at a middle school (though services are not provided there). You'll work with a caseload of 30 to 40 elementary-aged students and play a pivotal role in conducting evaluations and providing targeted support to help learners succeed.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate, with required Special Education or Learning Disability Teacher Certification
  • Experience performing student evaluations, with the ability to utilize data to guide instruction and intervention
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring for elementary populations
  • Flexibility to travel between four assigned school locations within the district
  • Solid communication skills for effective partnerships with families, staff, and support teams
  • NJ Tech Certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction for students with diverse learning needs, following IEP goals
  • Conduct comprehensive student evaluations to identify strengths and areas of growth
  • Adapt curriculum, resources, and instructional strategies to maximize student engagement and achievement
  • Monitor and document student progress, attendance, and participation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and specialists
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and program updates
