Special Education Teacher in North Adams, MA

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience with severe caseloads (both cognitive and physical disabilities)
• Skilled in supporting toileting and personal care needs
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and non-verbal students
• Background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and specially designed instruction preferred
• Comfort collaborating with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
• Ability to work onsite; travel professionals welcomed

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement customized lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
• Provide both academic and life skills instruction within a highly supportive environment
• Collaborate closely with classroom staff, RBTs, therapists, and administration
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate students abilities
• Support students with toileting and other daily living skills
• Track progress, maintain records, and attend IEP meetings as required
