Two fulfilling contract opportunities are availableone at the middle school level and another at the high school levelboth requiring in-person commitment. These roles are ideal for educators passionate about collaboration, student growth, and evidence-based instruction.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification meeting all Vermont state requirements
  • Previous experience working with IEPs, individualized instruction, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage case loads and coordinate with families and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt to diverse students needs and foster inclusive classroom environments
  • Experience working with paraeducators or support staff (especially for high school role)
  • Proficiency with conducting student evaluations and preparing IEPs (primarily for middle school role)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct special education services to students in grades 56 (middle school role) or grades 912 (high school role)
  • Case manage assigned students, developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
  • Lead student evaluations to determine service needs, strengths, and areas of growth
  • Supervise and guide paraeducators in delivering instructional supports (high school position)
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations
