Special Education Teacher in Oxford, NC

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience supporting students with exceptional needs, ideally in middle school or elementary settings
• Knowledge of IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support personnel

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students in a self-contained, non-severe middle school setting and K-5 elementary resource classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt teaching strategies to support student learning and promote positive behaviors
• Work closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and administration
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and communications
• Collaborate with families to drive student achievement and advocate for supportive services
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required

This role offers a predictable weekday schedule, with hours from 7:15am to 3:15pm, allowing for a fulfilling work-life balance over the course of the academic year through June 4, 2027.
