Special Education Teacher | Peoria, Arizona

Openings are available for self-contained classrooms dedicated to supporting students with autism in kindergarten and second grade, as well as for a special needs preschool setting. Candidates are encouraged to indicate their preferred age group or site.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Special Education Educator Certification (SPED Cert)
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP FP Card)
• Experience with students on the autism spectrum, particularly at the moderate intellectual functioning level
• For the preschool position, Early Childhood (EC) certification is preferred, though candidates with a SPED Cert and strong EC experience will be considered
• Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
• Current, comprehensive resume

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Employ evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to students needs
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth within a self-contained or preschool classroom
• Collaborate closely with families, therapists, and school teams
• Adapt materials and curriculum to maximize access for all students
• Assess progress, document outcomes, and adjust teaching as needed
