Special Education Teacher - Rifle, Colorado

Make a real impact supporting students with mild to moderate needs in an onsite role for the upcoming academic year. This is a full-time contract opportunity for experienced Special Education Teachers who are committed to helping students succeed both academically and personally. Two unique assignments are available: one supporting grades 68 and another working with grades 912, each with a manageable caseload of about 2530 students.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Teaching License.
• Special Education Endorsement required.
• Prior experience with mild to moderate special education needs.
• Skilled at establishing rapport with students in diverse age groups.
• Comfortable with occasional toileting assistance if required.
• Ability to collaborate confidently with families, school staff, and support personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction for students as defined in their IEPs.
• Employ engaging teaching strategies and adapt lessons for optimal student success.
• Regularly monitor, document, and report student progress and IEP goals.
• Partner closely with other educators and specialists to foster inclusive learning environments.
• Support positive student behavior, social skills, and classroom engagement.
• Maintain current records and participate actively in IEP meetings and parent communications.
