Special Education Teacher - Rossville, Georgia

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students in a dynamic special education setting. This full-time position focuses on co-teaching math and science for 6th graders, and ELA and science for 7th and 8th graders. The role involves collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusion environment, providing instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those identified with Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD. Caseloads for each grade level range from approximately 10 to 12 students, with typical middle school behaviors and some students following individual behavior plans.

Key Qualifications:

• Current active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement
• Experience working with middle school students in a special education or inclusion/co-teaching setting is strongly preferred
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to implement accommodations and behavior plans as needed
• Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and classroom management
• Comfortable adapting instruction to meet diverse needs within the classroomno toileting or diapering duties required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Co-teach 6th grade math and science, and 7th/8th grade ELA and science alongside general education instructors
• Provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students on your caseload
• Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing communication with team members and families
• Foster an inclusive, structured, and encouraging learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust supports as needed throughout the school year
