Special Education Teacher | Rossville, Georgia

A rewarding, contract opportunity awaits a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. This full-time assignment runs through May 2027, providing the chance to develop lasting connections with Pre-K students who benefit from personalized support and guidance.

In this role, you will work with children between the ages of 3-5, each with unique strengths and varying needs. The position centers on fostering communication, independence, and growth among students who are often non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities. Daily responsibilities include supporting students as they navigate toileting, diapering, and feeding, making patience and compassion key qualities for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging instruction and interventions based on each childs Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Assist with toileting/diapering and feeding, ensuring students comfort and dignity at all times
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for young learners
• Use creative strategies for behavior management and communication support
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and fellow educators to advance each students developmental goals
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K
• Previous experience with early childhood special education preferred
• Ability to support non-verbal or minimally verbal students, including use of AAC and visual supports
• Experience assisting with feeding, toilet training, and behavior management techniques
• Empathy, flexibility, and excellent teamwork skills
