Special Education Teacher | Saint Paul, Minnesota

Make a significant impact by supporting students in a center-based special education classroom at a highly regarded high school near Saint Paul, MN. This contract opportunity is open immediately and continues through May 28, 2027. Youll work fully onsite in a collaborative educational environment dedicated to empowering students with diverse learning needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota teaching credential with a Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) endorsement
• Previous experience in Special Education, ideally in a center-based or similar specialized classroom
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Adaptability and commitment to fostering student growth and independence
• Dedication to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Role Expectations:

• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and support staff
• Monitor student progress using assessments and adjust strategies as needed for optimal learning outcomes
• Cultivate a classroom atmosphere that promotes positive behavior and respect for all
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in special education

This role offers the chance to build meaningful relationships while working in a supportive school community. Youll have a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours and direct daily engagement with students.
