Special Education Teacher | Shelbyville, Indiana

This full-time position (Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week) offers an engaging role in special education, working alongside dedicated professionals to help students reach their fullest potential.

There are two available positions:

• Resource Classroom: Manage a caseload of approximately 25-30 students with mild intervention needs.
• Essential Classroom: Work with about 10 students requiring intense intervention support.

Both roles require a valid Indiana teaching license with appropriate certification (mild or intense intervention).

• Valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education (mild and/or intense intervention, depending on position)
• Experience or passion for working with middle school students in a special education environment
• Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to adapt daily, as class schedules or room assignments may be adjusted
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver differentiated instruction based on IEPs
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
• Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to programming as needed
• Create a nurturing and structured learning environment
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements
