Special Education Teacher in Silt, CO

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with middle and high school students with mild to moderate needs. This full-time role runs from mid-August 2026 through early June 2027 and is based onsite near Silt, CO. The position is open to both local professionals and travelers passionate about making a meaningful difference in students lives.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado Teaching License
• Required Special Education (SPED) Endorsement
• Experience supporting students with mild/moderate learning and behavioral needs
• Willingness to provide assistance with toileting as necessary
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Manage a caseload of approximately 2530 middle and high school students
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with staff and families
• Support students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth within the school setting
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to optimize services
• Maintain accurate records and ensure ongoing progress monitoring
• Encourage skills for independence and self-advocacy in students
